Taste of Chicago Adventure
My friend Lucy and her 4 nieces and 2 nephews who are visiting her this week drove partway to Chicago this morning. Since she had room for one more in the car, I invited myself, that's how I am. Never been to "Taste of Chicago" and I've always wanted to go but I really hate crowds.
Drove to the N. Cumberland exit and then parked which I'm so happy to know since it's taken me over 2 hours to drive to Hyde Park to see my grandbaby and she's only 50 miles away. That last 25 miles in Chicago is a beast.
We jumped on the blue line and hopped off right at Daly plaza. I just love learning new ways to maneuver around this great city.
Heard an orchestra practicing at the pritzker amphitheater for free, how cool is that?
My son met me at the "Bean" and off to the Taste of Chicago we went. What a beautiful day at Grant Park and the crowds were not even big or bothersome.
Had to try Garrets frozen popcorn popsicle. Yummy treat on a perfect Chicago day in the park.
I loved being there and can't wait to go next year, now I know what to expect - buy tickets in advance and lots of them - Go early. Anyone want to come with me - I'll drive!!
